New York University Department of Linguistics

We created a visual identity and wayfinding program for the Department of Linguistics at New York University. Largescale red vinyl letters on the all-glass facade are used to identify the building, while vertical grooves in the walls of the student lounge are integrated with dramatic, clear directories that are visible from the street.

To further encourage exchanges between the divisions located on different floors, we designed playful signage to make traveling from floor to floor an easier and more pleasant experience.

  • Signage and wayfinding
  • Interior graphics and art

The graphics we designed in the stairwell change color depending on the direction from which they are viewed—blue if you are climbing up the stairs and red if you are walking down.
